В учебном пособии рассмотрены представления об изотопном фракционировании при конжеляционном льдообразовании. Обобщены современные данные об изотопном составе многолетних снежников на Полярном Урале, на шельфовом леднике Принца Уэльского, на о.Мелвилл, речных льдов в бассейнах рек Лиард и Маккензи, многолетнемёрзлых озёрных льдов в Антарктиде, наледных льдов на Юконе и о.Байлот, морских многолетних льдов моря Лаптевых, Чукотского моря, моря Бофорта и Баффинова залива, а также ледяного шельфа Вард Хант, льдов в пещерах Бортиг, Скаришоара, Абиссо сут Марджине Альто Брегай, Вукушик, Мамонтовой, Добшинской, Монлези и Каверн дель Орс, льдов каменных глетчеров в Штубайских Альпах, Галена Крик, Гринлейк, Фосканьо, мертвых льдов и льдов выводных языков ледников Большой Азау, Джанкуат, Митре Ловенбрин, базальных льдов шельфовых и выводных ледников Восточной Антарктиды, Исландии, Норвегии, куполов Вавилова и Барнса.

Пособие предназначено для студентов, магистрантов и аспирантов гидрологов, океанологов, метеорологов, климатологов, геохимиков ландшафтов, физико-географов, гляциологов, геокриологов, а также может быть полезно специалистам соответствующих специальностей.

Experimental results of the isotopic fractionation during freezing and congelation ice formation are considered in the textbook. Current data on the isotope signature of number of natural ice of various origin are reviewed such as: perennial snowpack (initial glaciers) in Polar Ural, snow pits on the Prince of Wales Ice field, perennial snow bank, Melville Island, river ice cover in Liard-Mackenzie River basins, lake ice cover in northern Canada, dry-based Lake Popplewell in South Victoria Land in Antarctica, aufeis of the Firth River Basin, northern Yukon, icing blister development on Bylot Island in the Nunavut, Canada, aufeis in the southwestern Yukon, landfast ice cover in the Laptev Sea, in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, in the Ward Hunt Ice shelf, Ellesmere Island, Ice in the northern end of Baffin Bay. Stable isotopic features of the cave ice are reviewed: in the Bortig and Scărişoara Ice Cave, Romania, in the “Abisso sul Margine dell’Alto Bregai” Ice Cave in the Italian Alps, in the Dobsinska Ice Cave, Slovakia, in the Vukušic Ice Cave, Croatia, in the Dachstein Mammoth Cave, Austria, in the Monlesi Ice Cave, Switzerland and in the Caverne de l’Ours Ice Cave, Canada. Stable isotopic features of the ice lens in the rock glaciers: in the Stubai Alps, Austria in the Galena Creek and Green Lake, Colorado, in the Foscagno, Italian Central Alps. Stable isotopic features of the ice of valley glacier tongues and stagnant ice of Bolshoi Azau glacier and Djankuat glacier, Mt. Elbrus area, of the Mt. Chli Titlis, Central Swiss Alps, valley glacier Midtre Lovenbreen, Svalbard and also of the basal ice of the polar ice caps, of the coastal ice margin, East Antarctic, in outlet glaciers of Vatnajokull and Or.fajokull, Iceland, of glaciers in Lyngen, North Norway and of the Vavilov ice cap and Barnes ice cap.

The textbook is intended for undergraduates as well as graduate students. The textbook will help meteorologists, climatologists, geochemists landscapes, physical geographers, geocryologists, glaciologists, geomorphologists, Quaternary geologists and paleoclimatologists to understand natural ice origin.
