Abstract. Since 2021, monitoring of geocryological conditions and cryogenic processes in the north of the Pur-Taz interfluve has been carried out. The objects of study are polygonal-vein structures on the shores of lakes, which experience different effects from various factors. The authors identified several factors that can have a major impact on ice. For monitoring, complex methods of field research are used, combined with the processing of remote sensing data. The goal is to try to evaluate the dynamics of changes in polygonal-vein structures using new methods. Keywords: lake shores, thaw depth, remote sensing, polygonal-vein ice, polygonal peatlands
