Abstract. We present new data that were generated by comprehensive geological, geomorphological and geophysical studies within the Kaninsky Coast of the White Sea. The set of methods included geomorphological and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) profiling; differential global positioning system (DGPS) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveys; sampling of lake sediments for micropaleontological and geochemical analyzes and radiocarbon dating, and dune sands for optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating. This study aims to reconstruct the main stages of evolution of the coastal dunes in the Holocene, including their response to relative sea level (RSL) changes. Active dunes at the mouth of the Shoyna river are a transgressive dune field with a complex history of evolution and dynamics. The source of sediments includes sand supply from beaches and intertidal zone. The core of the accumulation of coastal-marine and aeolian deposits are bedrock cusps. GPR profiles and sections recorded at least three stages of accumulation of aeolian sands in the Middle and Late Holocene.
