Abstract. Two fields of glaciotectonic structures ("hill-hole pairs") were discovered in the Barents Sea and studied in detail by a set of geological and geophysical methods during the TTR-19 and TTR-20 cruises, for the first time for Russian shelves. Their detection is an irrefutable evidence of the development of ice-sheet glaciation in this area. Analysis of their features allows us to make important conclusions about the configuration and dynamics of ice-flows. The presence of ice domes on the Perseus rise and Franz Josef Land has been established and the direction of the ice-flows has been determined in the northern part of the Barents Sea Shelf. Differences in the morphology and distribution of the discovered glaciotectonic structures indicate different mechanisms of their formation, presumably associated with the formation of subglacial gas hydrates and permafrost zones.

Keywords: Barents Sea, multi-beam echosounding, seismic and acoustic profiling, hill-hole pairs, Weichselian glaciation
