Abstract. In the summer of 2022, we conducted field studies in the Vychegda and Severnaya Dvina basins (the Komi Republic and the Arkhangelsk region, Russia). We have studied 12 sedimentary successions, took samples for radiocarbon and optical-luminescent dating. In the Kadam extension of the Vychegda River valley, we found deposits of the Vychegda (MIS 6) proglacial lake, confirmed the existence of an ancient buried channel of the Vychegda River, as well as its inconsistency with the modern one. In the riverbank, we found glacial deposits, according to lithological features corresponding to the Pechora till (MIS 8), previously discovered only in boreholes. In the Severnaya Dvina River valley, we traced the deposits of the Severodvinskoe (MIS 2) proglacial lake along the transverse profile.

Keywords: Vychegda River, Severnaya Dvina River, proglacial lakes, Middle and Late Pleistocene, global runoff system
