Abstract. We present the new results of petro- and paleomagnetic studies, carried out on reference Middle-Upper Neopleistocene section of Mikulino marine clays in the Etalon factory (v. Sverdlov, Leningrad region). The results of studying the magnetic susceptibility of sediments and anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) are presented. The magnetic minerals in the studied sediments were identified by X-ray diffraction and the shape of the temperature dependences of the initial magnetic susceptibility at heating from room temperature to 700°C. The characteristic remanent magnetization (ChRM) is carried by greigite (Fe3S4). The two reversed and one normal polarity intervals were identified in the studied samples that may attributed to the Blake and post-Blake excursions.

Keywords: Late Pleistocene, Mikulino (Eemian) interglacial, petromagnetism, paleomagnetism, Neva region
