Abstract. The history of geological study and mapping of the Toropetsky district of the Tver region is briefly described. It is shown that at the moment there is not a single published geological map larger than the scale of 1:1000000 for the studied area. The results of the study of the relief bearing traces of geological events during the degradation of the last Valdai glaciation are presented.
