Abstract. The problem of the duration and temporal boundaries of the Mikulino Interglacial does not currently has a final solution. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct detailed comprehensive studies of a large number of sections of the Mikulino sediments using the methods of their paleobotanical study and 230Th/U dating. In September 2022, field work was carried out on the Verkhniye Nemykary section on the Dnieper River bank in the Smolensk region. Samples of organic-rich deposits (every 2-4 cm) from 2 peat layers were taken for palynological and carpological analyzes and 230Th/U dating. The results of further study of the collected samples will make it possible to clarify the chronology of the Last Interglacial deposits formation on the Russian Plain.

Keywords: Northwest Russian Plain, Mikulino interglacial, geochronology, uranium-thorium dating, spore-pollen analysis, paleocarpology
