Abstract. The paper presents the results of studies of ikaite samples collected in sediments of the Yenisei River delta in the Kara Sea. Based on the oxygen isotope composition data, water sources and the temperature of its formation were determined, and a statistical analysis of the δ18O values of ikaite from various areas and geochemical settings was carried out.

Keywords: ikaite, oxygen isotopes, Kara Sea, early diagenesis
