Abstract. We carried out drilling of the bottom sediments of the lakes Pleshcheyevo and Somino in 2023. We select the upper part of the unconsolidated bottom sediments in the Pleshcheyevo Lake (this part was lost during drilling in 2019). The upper part of the unconsolidated bottom sediment and two columns of bottom sediments with a total length of 18.9 m were selected from the Lake Somino. In the upper 1.5 m of the bottom sediment of each lake the Cs¹³⁷content was determined to reconstruct sedimentation rates in recent decades.
